General Practitioner - Bethesda, MD

"I was looking for a primary care family doctor, and I read reviews on the Aetna provider search, a practice close to my home and taking patients. I found the practice in a convenient location in Bethesda, but it was a very small office. Once in the examination room, I realized it was just Dr. Faure and the receptionist. There was no nurse or anybody else to prepare me for the visit, which I had expected from previously going to larger practices. Dr. Faure took one look at me and hooked up an EKG. He complemented me on my low heart rate, and then based on this limited evidence declared that I am healthy. Then, he drew some blood for a cancer screening, and that was it. He was nice enough, but professionally I felt like I got short changed. I wanted to establish a relationship with a primary care doctor, and instead I felt like I was being fit in between the previous and next appointment without a thorough examination. I am frustrated because I don't go to the doctor but once every few years for the annual checkup, and I made a special effort to go see this guy. However, I feel completely written off, and I can't see myself ever going back to this practice. By the way, I specifically asked for a booster, and was unable to get it during my visit, and several months later I'm still trying to track down a referral, having called their office several times since to receive it through their stupid Hushmail system. I think I just have to write this off as a fluke, but I want others to beware that this is not a good doctor for your primary care - he's probably only interested in prescription pushing and referring patients to his large network of connected specialists."
