"this was a letter I sent to Dr Abraham and Premier Medical Associates......... To: Premier Medical Associates Subject : Dr. Rami Abraham M.D. & staff To whom it may concern, I can not find enough adjectives to communicate how absolutely pleased, satisfied, and best of all, comforting my experiences with Dr. Abraham and his ENTIRE staff have been. Healthcare, HMO's especially, which I am enrolled in, have become a seriously uncaring proposition lately. Finding a truly caring professional has become a cold, hard, and tedious process. I have had a recurring large cyst on my lower left back for the last 2 years. It was frequently getting infected, and very painful. My PCP and the local Urgicare had prescribed antibiotics, and recommended I see a “general” surgeon for removal. My PCP had also recommended seeing a surgeon for removal of a “family bump” a.k.a. Lipoma. All the males on my father's side have had 1, either on the neck, face or back area. Mine is on my right shoulder. After numerous failed attempts, through my AETNA providers, due to poor information on their web page, I found Dr. Abraham. My first call to the office on 10-24-18 I was shocked. After explaining my serious infection and need to find a surgeon, I was briefly placed on hold. “The doctor will see you at 3:30 TOMORROW”. WHAT ???? I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. Usually there is a at least a 2 week wait. I arrived for my appointment and Melissa promptly and friendly greeted, registered and checked me in to the system. She took me into exam room, BP, temp etc. and usual ?'s updating meds etc. Dr. Abraham came in shook my hand, and began a detailed conversation about what was going on with the cyst, causes, types etc. Then he proceeded to examine “the bump”, causes, treatment, and removal, all while discussing my, as well as my family medical history. I also showed Dr. Abraham where another cyst in the shoulder area was coming back. I have a long history with cysts, ingrown hairs etc., which Dr. Abraham also looked at, and said he could take care of it at the same time. Dr. Abraham spent about 45 minutes with me on this first appointment, or about 4 times as long as my PCP visits last. He prescribed an antibiotic and we scheduled a second visit on 11-6-18 to remove the cyst. I told Dr. Abraham how pleased I was with his attention, explanations, and most of all how he made me feel like I was the ONLY patient he had. INCREDIBLE. The ONLY other doctors I have ever felt this comfortable with were my now retired periodontist and her husband dentist. Both of whom I trusted and respected completely. Dr. Abraham earned my respect and trust during this first visit. On 11-6 I was once again greeted and expertly treated by the ENTIRE staff. Unfortunately, now that the infection was controlled Dr. Abraham explained that the cyst and accompanying scar tissue were too large to do in the office. He recommended that this procedure be done at the surgical center. Due to two other Dr.'s I had appointments with on 11-26, 1 one on the floor above, we scheduled 12/17 to address cyst. ((( A side note: On 11-26 while entering the building for my foot Dr. appointment Dr. Abraham spotted me in the hall. He said “do we have an appointment today”? I laughed, nope, not unless you're doing feet too. BUT, even thought he was obviously ON duty, he took 5 minutes or so out of his busy day to ask me how things were going and if the cyst was going away. WOW !!!!!! That ladies and gentlemen IS a professional.))) Dr. Abraham fully explained what would happen, stitches, etc. and he introduced me to Dennyse who reviewed and totally explained everything about the procedure, pre-surgery chest x-ray, EKG etc. Then, go figure with my crazy HMO I had to go back to my PCP for an x-ray referral, which they processed wrong. BUT, thanks to Dennyse and Joleen (sic?) they assisted in fixing my PCP's office error. BRAVO, THANK YOU LADIES !!!! Today, 12-17, I had the surgery to remove the cysts at the Monroeville surgery Center on Monroeville boulevard. Dr. Abraham once again earned my respect and sincere admiration for his comforting words, care, and attention to details. Tomorrow I will schedule the 10to14 day follow up appointment. My apologies for what may be perceived as a long-winded review, but I just felt that Dr. Abraham and his ENTIRE staff warrant the praise as detailed above. My sincere thanks for their expertise, communication, treatment, and professionalism. MOST important, for making me feel as I am the only patient they have. In this day and age of cold “swipe your card” “enter payment” “begin check-in” kiosks it is truly a great comfort and pleasure entrusting my healthcare to such an attentive and dedicated group of professionals.
