My mom came in to see her a couple of years ago with complaints of different symptoms, she was completely dismissed and told it was nothing to worry about. My mom knew there was something wrong so went and got a second opinion, turns out she had late stage 3 Ovarian cancer. Had no idea this was the doctor who initially misdiagnosed my mom so I went in to see her for my yearly exam. I had a couple of questions and wanted to get tested for a yeast infection/bv, she was completely unable to answer any of my questions but took a sample for a yeast infection. Three weeks later I call because I haven't gotten any test results, turns out they just didn't process the sample? Asked me if I would want to come back in and get another sample taken. Not really sure where the miscommunication was but still just kind of ridiculous. If you are concerned something is wrong, from something as simple as a yeast infection to something as serious as ovarian cancer, I do not recommend seeing Abigail Smith.
