DO NOT GO to CT-ENT for hearing aids.  I had a truly awful experience here when I met with Dr. Shephard who diagnosed me with moderate hearing loss. She recommended hearing aids and told me that my insurance company would pay 100% of the cost.  When all was said and done, there turned out to be a $4500 gap between the price United Health Care was willing to pay for the hearing aids and what CT-ENT wanted to collect from me.  I went back and forth with CT-ENT for months working with an advocate from UHC who insisted that I had paid all I was obligated to pay based on the contract CT-ENT had signed with United Health Care, but to no avail.  At this point, faced with CT-ENT turning my bill over to a collection agency or me paying them the money I do not owe them, I am forced to pay the ridiculous amount of $$$ but with the caveat that I am telling the world about their dishonest practices.  At no time was I informed there would be a difference between what insurance would pay and what I would owe them.  At no time was I offered a less expensive pair of hearing aids.  My best hope now is that I can prevent others from making the same mistake.  Please please please do not use CT-ENT if you think you might need hearing aids.
