My son had eye surgery with Dr. Staeger Jr. in the summer of 2017.  It was performed at Children's Hospital in Plano because of his poor history with anesthesia.  He again had problems so we were glad to be there.  In October at a follow-up, I was informed my son needed more surgery on one eye.  Dr. Staeger went out on leave shortly after so we could not be seen again until January. (I have no ill feelings toward him being out.  Life happens).  We went back for another consultation and indeed, we need another procedure.  When the scheduler called, I was told that Dr. Staeger did not renew his credentials with any hospital and will only perform surgeries at one of two surgical centers.  We refused and are now looking for another surgeon to finish the job.  The surgical coordinator tried to push us into the surgical center, but our son has needed to be resuscitated following anesthesia before and will not take the risk.  A courtesy call would have been appreciated prior to our January appointment so we could have cancelled and gone elsewhere.
