This endocrinologist monitors autoimmune thyroid disease via the inaccurate TSH level ONLY.  Free and bound T4/T3, antibodies, etc? She won't test for it. Want to try NDT or add synthetic T3 to your regimin? This physician won't consider it. In fact, if you are still experiencing hypo/hyper symptoms and that lone TSH is in range, save your breath. I lasted three appointments before I left and found a competent doctor - who, I might add, was stunned by Story's diagnostic criteria. Best wishes if this is your physician.
