Facial Paralysis

Facial paralysis is an inability to move the muscles in the face. It often affects only one side, and it can happen quite suddenly. Facial paralysis may make one's face feel frozen or numb.

Facial paralysis can happen when there is inflammation or damage to either the part of the brain that controls the facial muscles or the nerve that carries signals from the brain to the face. Some common causes include:

Stroke, which can affect the part of the brain controlling the face and prevent those muscles from working
Bell's palsy, an inflammation of the main facial nerve
Lyme disease

Head trauma in which nerves are damaged

I have been a patient of Sr Scott Stephan's since 2012. I so greatly admire him as a physician and person. He is so knowledge of my problems as a result of scull tumor. He keeps my face from looking so "crazy" every 3 months. It takes me about 1.30 depending on traffic to arruve I would not change doctors for anything.dr Stephan Is always friendly upbeat so professional and so so caring. He always takes time talking about interesting topics and of course about my face. I don't believe there could possibly be any problems involved fsce that he not an expert on fixing. I glad he has his new facilities he deserves to be treated as a king for the outstanding work he does.
