Surgery went well for my fathers half hip replacement. I would caution however, that given my fathers age Dad should have been counseled on eating an easily digestible diet for a few days post surgery. He ordered roast beef and laid flat for the next 12 hours. He developed reflux that he now describes as a 10 on a ten point pain scale. It is the responsibility of the surgeon to leave this information with staff to communicate to the patient. Dad would have followed the advice, but doesn’t always listen to family with regard to dietary choice.
